Hi again ♥

I know it's been far too long since I've made a post. Sadly, it's all too easy to get stuck in the routine of everyday life and forget to make time for other things that you used to really enjoy—like blogging! But I truly want to get back into blogging regularly again, and one of my resolutions for 2019 is to return to my roots and revive this blog. That's for a future post, though. Hello, Internet!

It... has definitely been a while since I've posted on this blog. I feel so badly about that, and there are a number of reasons that kept me from blogging, many of them under the umbrella of "life getting in the way." I may do a more in-depth life update post, telling you everything I've been up to and what's new since my last post on here. But that's for another time! I know I've said this before, but I really want to mean it this time: I do want to get full-force back into this blog. I'm working on making that happen, so stay tuned and cross your fingers that I can actually pull through on my promise and commit to this blog again! It really is near and dear to my heart and I would love to make it a part of my life again.

Now that we've got that out of the way, I wanted to do an update post, because this weekend was pretty eventful. So let's go through what I've been up to, on this very sunshiny Mother's Day weekend!

So, I know this is a bit late to the party, as we're already into our second week in the new year (!!!). But I thought it would be really fun to do a mini-haul and show you my favorite things I got for Christmas this year! (Plus, we all know that we still miss Christmas a bit...)

Hello and Happy New Year!

 2015 is officially over, which means it's time to look back on the year, as well as look forward to what I hope 2016 will bring.  And what better way to ring in the new year than a complete blog makeover?  Yes, I recently gave this blog a whole new look, which I am absolutely in love with and is closer to the vision that I've always pictured for my blog.  Along with this, I've created a new blog banner and... yes, renamed my blog entirely.  

 

Well, it's official: today is December 1st. To many, this marks the beginning of the holiday season: drinking hot cocoa by the fire, singing along to Christmas songs on the radio, wandering through a wondrously festive shopping mall, decorating your house for the season and watching others as they prepare to decorate theirs... I'm totally and completely ready for all of this to come, as it's my favorite time of the year.  At the same time, though, it's crazy to think that December is already here.  It feels like fall has quickly come and gone.  Most of the trees on our street are already bare.  Still, this was an incredible, beautiful fall that we had.  I feel bad that I've barely had the chance to document any of it on this blog, so this post is a farewell as well as a remembrance of fall.  I hope you enjoy!

Well, after a long summer, it's finally here... a vacation!  And I truly need it at this point.  I've been dealing with the lows of post-college life all summer, from searching endlessly for a job to feeling alone and like life is passing me by.  It can be extremely hard, life after college.  But like my mom said, "You need a vacation," something to change up my routine a little, and I couldn't agree more.  That's why me and my mom, along with my older sister and aunt are going to... VICTORIA, B.C.!

I'm going to let you in on a little secret: these past few days - weeks even - have been pretty hard.  Every day, the same routine of getting on the computer and scrolling through pages and pages of job listings, most of which I'm unqualified for, due to being fresh out of college and having essentially no experience.  It can get really discouraging really fast.  And Facebook's no better either, which was my big mistake when I logged onto it last night.  People having lives, people getting jobs and boyfriends and moving to cities.  Meanwhile, I'm stuck back home in my small town, trying to get my life to budge towards something promising.  Managing to find myself at an all-time-low after that, I knew that I had to pick myself up somehow the next day.  Because that's what's always most important following post-grad life: amidst the job searching and the helplessness, it's important to step away from that for a while so as to be reminded of and appreciate the small things in life we so often overlook, even in our daily lives.

I hope everyone reading this is doing well.  I just wanted to let you know that I've recently created a Twitter account!  It's clear that I love blogging, yet there are definitely times when I want to document a thought or an occurrence, but it seems too trivial to make into a blog post.  This is where I love microblogging, such as Twitter and I thought it would be perfect for me.  My account is still very new, but I would love for anyone to follow me if they so wish :)
