I know it's been far too long since I've made a post. Sadly, it's all too easy to get stuck in the routine of everyday life and forget to make time for other things that you used to really enjoy—like blogging! But I truly want to get back into blogging regularly again, and one of my resolutions for 2019 is to return to my roots and revive this blog. That's for a future post, though. Hi, everyone!

So, it's been a very long while since I've posted on here.  The last time I did, I believe I was ringing in the new year: I had just changed the entire look (and even the name!) of this blog, and was delving into my new niche that I had discovered within the blogosphere: book blogging.  Funny I mention that, because this new blogging passion is exactly what's been keeping me busy nowadays.

Hello and Happy New Year!

 2015 is officially over, which means it's time to look back on the year, as well as look forward to what I hope 2016 will bring.  And what better way to ring in the new year than a complete blog makeover?  Yes, I recently gave this blog a whole new look, which I am absolutely in love with and is closer to the vision that I've always pictured for my blog.  Along with this, I've created a new blog banner and... yes, renamed my blog entirely.  

 

Well, it's official: today is December 1st. To many, this marks the beginning of the holiday season: drinking hot cocoa by the fire, singing along to Christmas songs on the radio, wandering through a wondrously festive shopping mall, decorating your house for the season and watching others as they prepare to decorate theirs... I'm totally and completely ready for all of this to come, as it's my favorite time of the year.  At the same time, though, it's crazy to think that December is already here.  It feels like fall has quickly come and gone.  Most of the trees on our street are already bare.  Still, this was an incredible, beautiful fall that we had.  I feel bad that I've barely had the chance to document any of it on this blog, so this post is a farewell as well as a remembrance of fall.  I hope you enjoy!

There's this cute little box that I always pass by on my walks to town.  It's in the shape of a house and has a window cut out in the front, and books tucked away inside.  It's called the Little Free Library.  I'd heard of others like this one scattered around, where people can drop off books and others can pick them up as they please.  It's like a miniature library (thus the name).  It's a really great idea, and it's so nice for those to have a heart big enough to donate their own books, knowing it will make someone else's day as they pass by.  I also like the mystery of it.  You never know who will drop off books or who will pick them up, but regardless, there are always new books appearing in this Little Library every time I walk by.

Well, after a long summer, it's finally here... a vacation!  And I truly need it at this point.  I've been dealing with the lows of post-college life all summer, from searching endlessly for a job to feeling alone and like life is passing me by.  It can be extremely hard, life after college.  But like my mom said, "You need a vacation," something to change up my routine a little, and I couldn't agree more.  That's why me and my mom, along with my older sister and aunt are going to... VICTORIA, B.C.!

I'm going to let you in on a little secret: these past few days - weeks even - have been pretty hard.  Every day, the same routine of getting on the computer and scrolling through pages and pages of job listings, most of which I'm unqualified for, due to being fresh out of college and having essentially no experience.  It can get really discouraging really fast.  And Facebook's no better either, which was my big mistake when I logged onto it last night.  People having lives, people getting jobs and boyfriends and moving to cities.  Meanwhile, I'm stuck back home in my small town, trying to get my life to budge towards something promising.  Managing to find myself at an all-time-low after that, I knew that I had to pick myself up somehow the next day.  Because that's what's always most important following post-grad life: amidst the job searching and the helplessness, it's important to step away from that for a while so as to be reminded of and appreciate the small things in life we so often overlook, even in our daily lives.

Well, it's official: it's the 26th of December, also known as the day after Christmas.  All of the giddiness and excitement has dwindled down and now we're all enjoying the gentle quiet of post-Christmas.  An added space has taken up our rooms, made up of boxes and envelopes and gifts and filled stockings we received from relatives and close family the day before.

I'M BACK!  I know it's been so long since I've written in this, but I've been so busy with work in these last few weeks of the quarter. 

I'm looking back on my last five entries (including this one) and I notice they all end in "Weekend."  Haha!  I guess because that's the only time I'm able to write in this blog and they're often the highlights of my week.  I mean, I don't really think anyone wants me updating on my assignments for class I have throughout the week.  Still, it's funny to look at my most recent entries and the fact that they're all weekend-related ;D

I know it's been so long since I've written in this, but I promise, I'm still here!  Just been very busy is all.  A lot's been happening lately (very exciting things!) and it's also getting to that point in the quarter where final projects are drawing nearer and I'm having to scramble, making sure I'm where I need to be and that I'll get them done in time.  And... whew, everything's just been coming at me all at once!  This extra long weekend came at just the right time, though.

It is now Sunday night, and my busy-lazy-recovery weekend is about done.  I think I needed this weekend.  It gave me a chance to relax while also getting some stuff done (how does that work ;D). 

I just now came home to my room after a long day. 

Wow, two posts in one weekend!  Well, today I decided to continue on in trying to make this a more productive weekend rather than just one filled with me sitting in my room doing nothing, so I made the plan of walking down to the part of town that's close to my college and go into the local Starbucks down there.  Of course, I couldn't help but take pictures of my walk on the way there, as it's starting to look more and more like fall:
