Village Books and a Package From Home!

7:10 PM

Today started off as just another lazy Saturday.  It was raining in the morning - which was actually kind of nice since it's been so hot lately and I need a reminder that I live in Washington - and then I diligently read through and took notes for Chapter 3 in my Psychology of Gender textbook.  By the time I was finished with that, it was actually starting to get sunny again, so I decided to reward myself for my studying and take a bus down to old Fairhaven and visit Village Books!

It's such a great bookstore.  I always look forward to popping in and looking at all the newly-published books.  And they always have such cute things out front, including this visit, so I couldn't help but give you the inside tour:

And of course, since this  was my whole reason for going, I also couldn't help but take pictures of the new books that caught my eye that I may be putting on my To-Read list:

I don't know if I'm actually going to read this, but I thought the cover was cute!

 And yes... there's another floor!

Because I love pictures like these of ordinary people in bookstores or in coffee shops, sitting in a quiet corner with their laptops <3

It was such a good trip!  I didn't buy anything, but I still just love walking through a bookstore anyway.  I wish I could've stayed longer and sat myself in a nice chair and read some of the short stories for next Fiction Writing class (oops), but I started to feel really anxious towards the end and I had to get out.  Most of it was because I always get nervous about finding my way back to school from town.  Haha, I can always get there.  It's finding my way back where I have trouble.  Thankfully I found the right bus stop I needed to be at and this lovely girl reassured me that I was at the right stop and that the #14 bus would take me back to school.  I honestly love people who help you get to where you need to go.  They are the best.

Once the bus dropped me off in front of my building and I was safe and sound inside, I decided to check the mail.  To my great happiness, my package from Mom fiiiiiiiinally arrived!  YAY!  I've been anxiously awaiting this package for so long, but Mom had to wait for the book that I bought online to arrive so she could send me both books at once (the other book was just a library book).  But now they're finally here!

I'm so excited to read these :)

*sigh*  Well, today has been a really good day.  Now I'm all content, sitting in bed... and a little tired despite it being only 7:06.  I think I should get started on reading the next assigned book for Queer Studies, and maybe work on either writing the next section of my story for that class, or working on my story for Fiction Writing.

Goodnight,
x Danielle
