Caving Into a Summer Dress
2:01 PMYou know when you see a certain dress that you just instantly fall in love with? You start imagining yourself wearing it, imagining all the places you would wear that dress, how it would look hanging in your closet? You have to have it. Yesterday I was at the mall and, walking into a store called Etiquette, I experienced that sensation.
Now, I'm someone who has a lot of trouble making decisions when shopping, and I often suffer from shopping guilt after making a purchase. I'm extremely indecisive, and am always fearful of being too frivolous with money or making a wrong purchase even though I'm actually a very responsible shopper. I felt like this dress was calling to me, but I wasn't sure whether I should buy it since it was around $24 (hey, that's pricey to me, okay?) and I was already in Dress Heaven as soon as I walked into the store. I didn't want to make an impulse purchase and regret it later. So I held off on buying it and agreed to comeback later at the end of my shopping trip. Well, the end of my shopping trip came, I returned to the store, and after what felt like a half hour of seeing how I looked in it and going back and forth on whether I should buy it, I finally decided I deserved a nice dress purchase every now and then. I deserve this dress! So, I caved, and bought it. And yes, I am SO happy that I went through with it because I love it. I feel so cute and summery when I wear it. I love the bow and the black skirt, and the skirt is really soft! It seems like it's in incredibly good quality, too, unlike many Forever21 dresses that are more than this dress's price and fall apart really quickly. This dress also reminds me of a lot of dresses I see on Modcloth.com (a store I would absolutely shop at if I had all the money in the world) but for a much lower price. I now call it my Minnie Mouse dress, because I just realized while wearing it around yesterday that it seems like something she'd wear! I should totally wear this, along with my mouse ears hat, the next time I go to Disneyland. I can't say it enough, though - I love my new dress!
No, there are not polka dots on the black part of the dress - just a result of my dirty bathroom mirror! |
