New blog?
2:37 PMI've been thinking for awhile about starting a blog, just a place for me to ramble and write about my days. I've always liked the idea of documenting my life in some form, whether it's through writing journal entries or taking pictures. I think I want to try to do that more. Even if no one else ends up reading this, I want to keep this blog primarily for myself. I've been tossing back and forth whether to use Blogger or Wordpress. I think I might want to go with Blogger because the layout of it just seems so much more simpler and easier to navigate. Blogger seems like a really comfortable site to have a blog. I wish I would've gotten the motivation to do this much earlier and actually keep up with it. It would've been nice to look back on a blog I made back in middle school and that I've still been keeping up with. It seems like a lot of people have blogs they've kept for a really long time. I used to have a Xanga for a long time, but unfortunately Xanga's pretty much a dead site now. I saved the archives once they notified everyone that Xanga would probably shut down, but it's not the same looking through them on my computer as looking through them on my actual blog (if I still had it). So, I suppose this is where I'll have to start over again!
I just came home from my last day of my Junior year of college yesterday, and I still feel pretty exhausted. Me and my mom had to move everything out of my tiny dorm room, which proved to be a much bigger challenge than we thought. Lots of bending down and picking up heavy things and loading them onto the back of my mom's truck. And on top of that we had to take apart my lofted bed and awkwardly carry very heavy bed parts down a flight of stairs and across the courtyard. Ugh... I'm SO glad to be out of that terrible room, though. It was honestly the worst. So freaking tiny. So cramped. So dreary. It was depressing. The whole residence area I was living in wasn't great either. I was basically living in the woods for a year. I am so excited for next year when I'll be living in the nicer dorm building and be out in the open! After me and Mom moved us out, we still had to stay stuck in the truck for over two hours. It usually takes about two hours to get from Bellingham to where we live, but the traffic was terrible, so it took even longer. And then even once we got home, we had to load everything out of the truck and find places for everything to go. It turns out that I have a lot of stuff and a pretty small room to put it all in. Yeah, needless to say, yesterday was very exhausting and overwhelming. My arms are still a bit sore and I know that I still have to get myself settled in for the summer and pack for me and Mom's Canada trip tomorrow!
We're going to have to get up at the crack of dawn (7 AM) tomorrow to get everything packed into the car and take off so that we can hopefully beat traffic. It takes about three hours to get to Vancouver. We also plan on going to Victoria and Nanaimo. I am so excited! I just love traveling anywhere, especially to new places. We went on a trip to Vancouver about two summers ago and we barely got to see much of Nanimo, but I've never been to Victoria before, so I can't wait to see even more of Nanimo and see Victoria for the first time! We may or may not take my laptop with me because the hotel we're staying in has WiFi. So I might possibly be able to update on everything we're up to while we're there, but I may just as easily take it easy on the laptop to enjoy our trip and the books I checked out at the library today which I plan on bringing with me :) Either way, I'll try to remember the details of our trip and write about it all on here eventually. Hopefully I'll take plenty of pictures that I can share, too! I have to finish packing today, but for now I think I'm going to continue relaxing for a bit. I'm sitting on the couch, my dog sleeping next to me, it's a beautiful sunny day outside my window... and I'm watching Let's Make a Deal on TV, haha. I think I deserve it, though. I finished and turned in online my final film analysis and portfolio today that I'd been working on for my Film class ever since I got home. I've been working on de-messifying my room. Yep, I think I'm going to enjoy this relaxation for a little while longer. Packing can wait.
