Hi friends!

I know it's been so long since I've blogged on here. There's been a lot going on, between life stuff and work and just enjoying my summer. But rest assured, through it all I've still been reading up a storm, and I'm happy to finally have a book review to share! The book I'll be reviewing today is none other than Roomies, co-written by Sara Zarr and Tara Altebrando. This summer-before-college contemporary was one of my most anticipated reads of the summer and I have a lot of thoughts on it. So let's just dive right in!

I'm sorry I've been MIA lately.  I've been a bit busy in my post-college summer and there simply aren't enough hours in the day.  But this book review has been a long time coming and I'm so excited.  A couple weeks ago I read a book by one of my favorite Youtubers, Grace Helbig, titled, The Art Of Pretending To Be a Grownup.  In this helpful guide for millennials, Grace gives her readers tips, advice, and how-to's on a number of topics ranging from dating to work/career stuff and more.  Some favorites include How To Heal From a Breakup, How To Prepare For a Job Interview, and How To Make Friends as an Adult.

Hello Internet!

A couple days ago I officially finished reading Playlist For the Dead by Michelle Falkoff.  So naturally, a book review is in order.
I first saw this book while perusing the bookstore in the town near my college.  It was the title and appealing cover that made me linger, but it was reading the description, which reminded me all too much of 13 Reasons Why - a personal YA favorite of mine - that immediately put this novel on my to-read list.

As you may or may not know, last week I brought home quite a haul of books from the library, thus launching what I deem this summer to be The Summer of Reading.  I've been going through book after book, all the while trying to gain the motivation to write a book review in between.  Now, my first review (of many this summer!) is on the YA novel, 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson.

The above picture couldn't be any more the epitome of introversion: a mug of hot chocolate and a nice book.  And what could be a more appropriate way to write about this very book than on my blog in a quiet corner of the internet.  This past year as I've come to terms with my social anxiety, I've been searching and longing for a book that would perfectly describe my very nature and reassure me that I was not alone in how I felt.  I needed to find a book whose words would ring true for me and bring me comfort in knowing that I'm not the only one who has a bit of a phobia with the telephone and shrinks within herself when around other people.
