Valentine's Day in a Bookstore!

7:53 PM

Hello again!

I know, it's been SO LONG since I've written a post on this much-ignored blog and I'm so, so sorry for the handful of lovely individuals who have cared enough to follow this blog.  I've just been overwhelmingly busy with school this quarter.  I've barely have enough time for myself, much less enough time to sit down to write a proper blog post.  BUT, I've finally caught up on my work and this weekend is a 3-day weekend for me - a much-deserved break where I can finally relax and dedicate some quality time to myself.  And since today is Valentine's Day, rather than sitting, wallowing, and basing my self-worth on not having someone to celebrate it with, I figured today would be the perfect day to focus on ME; to give myself an entire day doing what makes me happy and enjoying the company of just myself.  So... what better place to spend Valentine's Day than to return to the lovely Village Books bookstore!

If you're new to this blog, you probably haven't seen the first post I wrote about my visit to Village Books, where I gave a detailed tour through photographs.  I didn't take pictures of the actual bookstore in this post, as I've already done it in the past and the bookstore looks pretty much exactly the same as the last time.  So if you're interested in seeing more of the bookstore in its entirety, check out my previous Village Books post!  Let's consider this post "Village Books Part II" ;)

Now, as you may or may not know, since becoming a blogger I can no longer go into a bookstore without taking pictures of every book that I either have a great desire to read, whose cover I think is beautiful, or that I just think is plain interesting.  I came across SO many books on this trip that caught my eye and snapped so many pictures, I swear, I think the employees thought I was some kind of spy from a rival bookstore or something.  So, I thought I'd share all of the wonderful books I saw today with you through photo montage.  Maybe you'll see a book that'll catch your eye and you'll want to read, too... Enjoy!

I found this book especially beguiling with its gorgeous, evocative artwork inside and the dark subject matter

Of course, it wouldn't be right to read this book anywhere other than my usual sitting area :)

I thought I'd end this post on a note of positivity :)  Whether you're with someone or you're in your own company, I hope you always take the time to appreciate the things in life that are good and that make you happy, and that you spent the day doing just that.  Don't ever base your worth in relation to someone else.  Realize that you are beautiful and wonderful because of you.  Just a friendly reminder <3

Anyway, I hope you liked this bibliophilic post!  Did any of these books catch your eye?  Hopefully I'll be able to do more of these book posts in the future.  Until then, have a great day, and don't forget to love and appreciate yourself!

x Danielle
